Provide general supervision for Field Engineers and Technicians. Develop daily schedule for Field Engineers and Technicians. Make certain equipment is scheduled and available for jobs. Provide technical support and assistance for field personnel. Work with Business Administrator to develop weekly invoicing and monthly status reports. Coordinate technical training for field personnel. Review and recommend field technical procedures and procedure changes. Perform employee reviews and recommend appropriate salary changes. Interview job applicants. Develop and review proposals and reports. Review reports of field engineers. Review and ensure team members adhere to Customer specifications. Review and audit field jobs. Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise 2+ Tiger Teams consisting of 4+ technicians each. Provide technical guidance on testing of Electrical apparatus. Responsible for safety requirements, career development, training, and reporting of their assigned teams. Manage manpower based on Customer’s/Project requirements. Travel Requirements

Willing to travel anywhere in North America ~80% of the time. Schedule is dependent upon project work and is flexible to the degree it can be. This is worked out on a case by case basis with your assigned project manager. PTO scheduled in advance can and will be accommodated. Does NOT require relocation to a Vertiv headquarter or regional office at this time. This is “project work” which typical projects last anywhere from 6-12 months on average. It can vary based on schedule and progress. Options for downtime (i.e. in between projects), employee can take PTO, training, regional work, and “home office” work. Typical schedule is to work 8-12 weeks and then 1 weeks back at “home base” depending on project schedule. This varies based on the phase of the project. Competencies

Graduate Engineer BSEE or BSME and two years experience. OR Graduate of applicable Electrical Technical School or Military equivalent and five years minimum same or similar work experience. OR High school education or equivalent and six years minimum same or similar work experience. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as OSHA and NFPA. Passed the NETA III/NETA IV exam or NICET equivalent. Strong background and experience in most types of switchgear testing through the 230 kV class. Good theoretical understanding of electrical power systems and problem evaluation. Ability to write detailed reports using a computer. Effective written and verbal communication with clients and peers. Good judgment, dependable, supervises projects with technical expertise and business acumen. Strong computer skills including editing, formatting, templates in Microsoft Word, and operation of computer controlled test equipment. Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and night work. Must be available for out-of-town work up to several months. Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and smell. May require lifting up to 100 pounds for testing sets. Valid Driver’s License. Physical Requirements

Medium to heavy lifting as needed. Frequent standing, kneeling, crawling, stooping, bending, twisting, climbing, and driving. Due to the safety sensitive aspect of the role, candidates are required to successfully pass a drug test prior to employment. A pre-employment background check and motor vehicle records check are also required. Environmental Demands

Extreme cold and heat; noise exposure; working around moving machinery; protective equipment required; outdoor work with variable weather.
