Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with a minimum of 10+ years of extensive, hands‑on experience in architecting, implementing, and administering scalable, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical lead with proven track‑record in designing multi‑cloud solutions and driving modernization through advanced Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps methodologies. This role requires expertise in building reliable, efficient platforms across multi‑cloud environments, specifically Microsoft Azure.
Core Competencies & Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design and provision of complex, scalable multi‑cloud infrastructure (Azure), including VMs, AKS clusters, VNets, and storage solutions. Develop, implement, and maintain IaC templates using Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep. Implement secure backend state management for Terraform. Configure and optimize Azure services for performance, cost, and reliability.
DevOps, CI/CD, and Containerization: Design, develop, and lead CI/CD automation frameworks and multi‑stage pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins. Automate critical tasks such as AKS cluster version upgrades with near‑zero downtime. Orchestrate and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS). Maintain scripting proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
Security, Governance, and Compliance: Lead cloud governance initiatives, enforce Azure tagging policies, naming conventions, and policy‑driven compliance reporting. Implement robust security protocols including RBAC, SSO, and data access controls. Manage secrets using HashiCorp Vault and Sentinel. Configure advanced network security solutions such as Azure Application Gateway (with WAF) and third‑party firewalls. Ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
Cloud Optimization & Operations: Proactively identify and execute cost‑saving measures (target 35%+ reduction) including VM right‑sizing, Reserved Instance planning, and idle resource cleanup. Develop scripts for auditing and cleaning unused or orphaned resources. Configure and maintain monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or Application Insights.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
10+ years of hands‑on experience as a Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer or similar roles.
Expertise in Multi‑Cloud Architecture with Azure at an expert level. Proficiency in Terraform, CI/CD Automation (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions), virtualization, storage, containerization, and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Hands‑on experience with Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
Preferred domain experience in Oil & Gas.
Demonstrated leadership in mentorship, collaboration, and fostering a high‑performing culture.
Strong focus on delivering reliable, scalable, and efficient platforms.
