Lallemand Animal Nutrition (LAN) is committed to optimizing animal performance and well‑being with specific microbial products and service solutions. We develop, produce and market forage inoculants, probiotics, antioxidants and yeast derivatives for animal nutrition, as well as microbial solutions for the animal environment. We serve all livestock markets: ruminant, swine, poultry, aquaculture as well as equine and companion animals. We like to define ourselves as a “field‑led, science supported” company. As such, our solutions are supported by a strong commitment to R&D and technical support with a team of experts in the field. LAN solutions are marketed in over 80 countries around the world, through our own sales teams or local distributors.

Main Functions Territory Business Manager will represent LAN within the I-29 dairy market, providing sales and support to existing clients and potential customers. The key responsibility of the successful candidate is to promote the value of LAN probiotics, forage inoculants, yeast derivatives and technical support services while communicating with current territory business manager in the territory that supports Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota. The position reports to the Eastern Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

Identify and pursue new business opportunities with large dairy farms within territory.

Generate sales growth by working with existing customers and distributors.

Provide consultative support to nutritionists and clients, helping optimize herd health, productivity and profitability.

Manage territory sales support, prospecting, and client relationships effectively to maximize sales growth.

Collaborate with other sales territory business managers with shared stakeholders including both dairy producers and nutritionists to create mutual growth opportunities.

Organize meetings and plant tours with clients and prospects in which LAN can present technical expertise and innovative solutions.

Present solid presentations and communications at the high technical end of the nutritional spectrum and be effective in communicating with individuals at the farm gate.

Resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customer’s concern, determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution, expediting correction or adjustment, following up to ensure resolution.

Actively participate in identifying new market opportunities within LAN’s core competencies.

Manage time and travel schedule efficiently.

Be responsible for the development and implementation of a sales budget and business plan.

Attend industry events and internal meetings outside of territory.

Required Skills

Essential: Degree in animal science, veterinary medicine, nutrition, or equivalent experience.

Essential: 5+ years of selling experience in a highly competitive agriculture marketplace.

Knowledgeable in ruminant nutrition, silage management and fermentation. Dairy and young animal production experience preferred.

Strong selling and relationship‑building skills with a clear objective for each sales call.

Proven successful track record of building business and hitting sales targets.

Self‑starter and the ability to work without daily supervision.

Existing relationships preferred with marketplace with dairy nutritionists, producers and stakeholders.
