As a Senior IT Architect Planning Manager at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, you will leverage your extensive expertise in SAP technology strategy, enterprise architecture, and leadership to drive our S/4HANA transformation journey. As a leader of a team of solution architects and technical architects, you'll play a critical role in shaping our S/4HANA architecture roadmap, defining technical standards, and ensuring seamless integration across our enterprise technology landscape. In this role, you will impact our organization’s ability to adapt, scale, and thrive in an ever‑evolving technological landscape by overseeing S/4HANA IT architecture strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and establishing the technical foundation for our global ERP transformation.
Responsibilities
Oversee and lead a team of IT solution architects and technical architects, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and professional development in S/4HANA architecture, integration design, and SAP technology platforms.
Define and govern the S/4HANA technical architecture blueprint including application layer design, integration patterns, data architecture, cloud infrastructure, security frameworks, and extension strategies.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including business process owners, functional leads, program managers, and implementation partners to define and execute IT architecture strategies aligned with business objectives and transformation goals.
Lead architecture planning for S/4HANA deployment waves, ensuring technical readiness, dependency management, and alignment across functional workstreams (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, Quality).
Shape the design and implementation of technology solutions leveraging SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Datasphere, and complementary cloud platforms, ensuring they meet scalability, performance, security, and compliance standards.
Establish technical standards and guardrails for S/4HANA development including custom code governance, extension framework policies, API design principles, and integration best practices.
Drive solution architecture reviews and technical decision forums, evaluating design options, assessing risks, and ensuring architectural consistency across the transformation program.
Oversee integration architecture strategy connecting S/4HANA with enterprise systems including CRM, PLM, MES, legacy ERP, analytics platforms, and third‑party applications.
Lead cloud architecture planning for RISE with SAP or hybrid deployment models, partnering with infrastructure teams to optimize performance, resilience, and cost efficiency.
Champion innovation by evaluating emerging SAP technologies including AI/ML capabilities (SAP AI Core, Joule), intelligent automation, SAP Business Technology Platform services, and industry‑specific solutions.
Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework) and maintain alignment with IT governance policies and industry best practices.
Partner with security and compliance teams to embed security‑by‑design principles, data privacy controls, and regulatory compliance requirements into S/4HANA architecture.
Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions that balance innovation with pragmatic delivery timelines and total cost of ownership considerations.
Build and maintain architecture artifacts including solution designs, integration landscapes, technical roadmaps, and architecture decision records.
Qualifications US Person Requirement: Candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
6+ years of experience in IT architecture planning and solution architecture, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or managerial role leading architecture teams.
Deep expertise in SAP technical architecture including experience with S/4HANA implementations, SAP HANA database, ABAP/ABAP Cloud development, and SAP technology stack.
Proven experience in architecting enterprise‑scale ERP solutions with focus on integration architecture, cloud platforms, and hybrid deployment models.
Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies including TOGAF, SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework, or similar standards.
Hands‑on experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) including Integration Suite, Extension Suite, Data Intelligence/Datasphere, and cloud‑native development.
Deep understanding of cloud computing architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), security frameworks, API management, and modern integration patterns (RESTful APIs, OData, event‑driven architecture).
Experience with SAP deployment models including RISE with SAP, S/4HANA Cloud (public/private editions), and on‑premise to cloud migration strategies.

Proven experience in overseeing complex architecture projects from conception through implementation across multiple deployment phases.

Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing frameworks in SAP contexts.
