Job Responsibilities

Truck and Rail Operations: Manage daily truck and rail operations and resolve issues that impact the safe, on‑time movement of Oxy's shipments to customers, exchange partners, terminals, plants and repair facilities.

Data Management: Maintain specialized knowledge and data integrity in SAP, Railtrac and other internal and external transportation systems ensuring all relevant information remains current.

Truck and Railcar Maintenance: Maintain detailed knowledge of truck or railcar design and maintenance. Work closely with Railcar Maintenance and third‑party maintenance providers to obtain mobile repair unit call‑outs, address bad‑ordered equipment, and follow scrap equipment and regulatory testing programs.

System Innovation: Utilize data to prepare and analyze performance metrics for use in recommending and implementing process improvements, efficiency gains and fleet utilization.

Fleet Utilization: Analyze production forecasts, sales forecasts and inventory requirements to determine fleet allocations on a tactical basis. Evaluate fleet statuses versus business needs and cost impacts to make strategic decisions on equipment cleaning, qualification, reallocation or storage.

Freight/Billing Exception Management: Investigate situations including freight claims related to jeopardized shipments, customer disputed billing and invoice discrepancies and initiate corrective actions.

Transportation Compliance: Maintain knowledge of applicable regulations, including FMCSA and FRA. Interact with appropriate agencies, corporate and plant personnel to resolve truck and rail operation issues. Answer freight classification requests for truck shipments and standard transportation commodity codes (STCC) for rail shipments.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Business or a similar function.

3+ years of Logistics or Customer Service experience preferred.

Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and organizational skills.

Possess an inherent sense of urgency and the ability to multitask.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and give direction to others.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with both internal and external customers, carriers and regulatory agencies.

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, SAP, Railtrac or similar programs. Microsoft Power applications experience preferred.

Must be willing to handle duties in off‑hours as required.
