Space is a critical domain, connecting our technologies, our security and our humanity. While others view space as a destination, we see it as a realm of possibilities, where we can do more — we can innovate, invest, inspire and integrate our capabilities to transform the future. At Lockheed Martin Space, we aim to harness the full potential of space to cultivate innovation, reduce costs, and push the boundaries of what technology can achieve. We’re creating future‑ready solutions, focusing on resiliency and urgency through our 21st Century Security® vision. We’re erasing boundaries and forming partnerships across industries and around the world. We’re advancing spacecraft and the workforce to fuel the next generation. And we’re reimagining how space can connect us, ensuring security and prosperity.
Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that’s built for you. Come join Lockheed’s Strategic Reentry Programs. This group of diverse Engineers has a long history of supporting the Air Force Mission reaching back to the 1960's. Today's challenge is to support the modernization of the Minuteman Weapon System by crafting, building, testing and deploying new Reentry Systems and Ground Equipment that will enable the new system to perform for many years to come. This critical mission area must be done right, pass meticulous certifications and last for many years to come. If this challenge is for you, you belong in SRP.
Responsibilities
Ensuring that Specialty Engineering plans, processes, and requirements are addressed (e.g., Reliability, System Safety, EMI/EMC, PMP, and Cybersecurity).
Supporting the Chief Systems Engineer by providing guidance and direction to a Specialty Engineering team to include full Systems Engineering lifecycle processes, from architecture and requirements development through weapons system operations and integration, and their application.
Providing technical instruction and interpretation of applicability of specialty engineering requirements to program‑unique designs to team members and customer personnel.
Assessing systems to confirm compliance with applicable design criteria, derivation of program‑unique requirements as appropriate to specific system architectures and equipment designs, and independent verification of accurate allocation and close‑out of each requirement prior to customer delivery and system deployment.
Understanding and applying DoD requirements and industry standards (AFMAN's, MIL‑STD's, IEEE requirements, and more) to the design.
