Overview
Join to apply for the READ USA AmeriCorps role at AmeriCorps. The READ USA AmeriCorps Tutor Leader Program is dedicated to improving literacy rates among elementary students in Title 1 schools within Duval County. By providing book choice and ownership, one‑to‑one literacy tutoring, multicultural literacy programming, professional literacy development, and workforce development preparation, the program aims to enhance reading proficiency and reduce poverty.
Responsibilities Members will go through 3 days of initial training and will then be placed at an elementary school in Duval County. Members will deliver after‑school tutoring to students who are behind in reading. Duties include tutoring students, completing paperwork in a neat, organized, and timely manner, working well in a team environment, and receiving workforce development training at regular intervals.
