Seasonal Freight Coordinator (Part-Time) Summary

The Freight Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement of creating the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our guests. The role also includes operational tasks assigned by store management such as receiving and unpacking daily shipments, shipping merchandise, backroom maintenance, and routine facility cleaning.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay range: $15.50–$16.00 per hour. Final offers may vary based on skill set, experience, location, and qualifications. For sales positions, Buckle pays a base rate plus commission.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Sales Generation and Guest Service

Compare and verify merchandise invoices to items received, ensuring shipments are correct.

Send any alterations, layaways, or special orders to guests via FedEx.

Check accuracy of freight packing slips and transfer slips.

Ensure all transfers processed through the register and items match what you are shipping out.

When shipping items to guests or other stores, fold items and place them in appropriately sized boxes.

Visual Merchandise Management

Remove pins and plastic from merchandise shipped in.

Place Sensormatic tags on each garment in the designated place.

Hang and fold merchandise for the sales floor; steam when necessary.

Assist on floor projects as needed.

Operations

Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Develop and maintain knowledge of POS software.

Receive freight boxes and store transfers through the register.

Send discrepancies in store mail and file non‑errors for 30 days.

Maintain all shipment‑related paperwork.

Watch for and recognize security risks and theft; handle appropriately.

Generate FedEx labels for all outgoing packages and sort by required transit time.

Send in recalls and RTVs weekly.

Keep supplies stocked and organized.

Organize fixtures and shelving.

Engage in activities that support a neat, clean, organized work area.

Maintain daily work file and keep it in order.

Report policy violations confidentially to Store Manager, District Manager, or HR.

Provide feedback to leadership regarding merchandise handling concerns.

Apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all policies.

Perform duties with high customer service and positive team spirit.

Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education And/or Experience No prior experience or training required.

Additional Requirements Must be 18 years old or older.

Physical Demands Requires standing, walking, hand use, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and lifting and maneuvering 50 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment Regularly works in a retail store setting with moderate noise.
