Varsity Cheer Assistant Coach
Grace Church School is a JK-12 independent school located on two nearby campuses in downtown New York City. Base Pay $55.00/hr - $55.00/hr

Position Overview The coaching position is a part-time role, compensated at an hourly rate of $55/hr. The Grace Athletics Department has committed coaches who develop, plan, and implement our growing sports curriculum. Middle and Upper School coaches work closely together to ensure the skills needed by our student‑athletes are covered.
What You'll Do The role of a Grace coach is to instruct our student‑athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary to realize individual and team success. The coach must also provide a foundation for integrity, pride, sportsmanship, self‑discipline, goal setting, teamwork, and self‑confidence.
Assistant Coaches Will (but Are Not Limited To)
Support the head coach in promoting the mission of the program
Contribute to and run practice sessions
Attend all scheduled games and practices
Attend all necessary athletic and school meetings and events
Help maintain and manage equipment
What You'll Bring
Relevant coaching experience
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work well with student‑athletes, parents, faculty/staff, and the athletics department
Current First Aid/CPR certification, or ability to get training before the season commences
Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the sport, with special consideration given to those having experience with the desired age category
Enthusiasm, commitment, patience, and a passion for teaching the game are essential to this position
Ability to motivate and provide positive leadership to our student‑athletes by following our school and athletic mission
College playing experience (preferred)
Availability Grace High School cheer coaches should be available from 8:00‑9:00 am and 3:30‑8:00 pm, Monday through Friday, from October 27 to February 22.
