ROLE The Lower School Special Education Teacher leads supports for Special Education students to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth.
PERSON As a Lead Special Education Elementary Teacher, You Will
Review weekly lesson plans and provide modifications, as necessary
Teach small groups in guided reading & math, using a research-based curriculum
Implement and adjust behavior interventions for scholars
Implement school-wide systems for academics and behavior
Implement processes to monitor progress of exceptional students
Compile data for meetings, updates, and annual reports
Support teachers to implement interventions
Meet with families to review progress on learning goals
MUST HAVES Prior Experience
A certification in Special Education (required)
Experience managing a Special Education caseload.
The ability to teach core subjects (Math and Reading) to elementary scholars.
Education
Bachelor’s degree required.
