Role Overview As a
Dosimetrist – Proton Therapy , you will be responsible for importing CT simulations and treatment data, optimizing computer‑based radiation dose distributions, calculating radiation doses or delivery settings, and documenting treatment plans prescribed by radiation oncologists.
You will participate in simulation, dose computations, immobilization, and other aspects of treatment planning for patients receiving radiation therapy, assisting with the development of proton, photon, and other radiation treatment plans as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Import CT simulations and treatment data accurately into treatment planning systems
Optimize radiation dose distributions using computer‑based planning software
Calculate radiation dose or delivery settings as prescribed by radiation oncologists
Document and maintain radiation treatment plans according to protocol
Participate in patient simulation, immobilization, and dose computation procedures
Assist in developing proton, photon, and other radiation treatment plans
Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, and therapy teams
Maintain compliance with safety, quality assurance, and regulatory standards
Qualifications Education
Graduate of an accredited Medical Dosimetry program or Certified Radiation Therapist with 2+ years of on‑the‑job training as a Medical Dosimetrist
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Licensure / Certification
Required: Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification or equivalent radiation certification
Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
Experience
Preferred: Experience with Proton Therapy and RayStation Treatment Planning System (TPS)
