Welder/Laser Operator II (M&A) - (Weekend Days / C-Shift)

Blue Origin We are hiring a skilled welder to join our Operations team, working on manufacturing and assembly of rocket launch vehicles and spacecraft components. This role requires expertise in TIG welding of aerospace-grade materials, laser equipment operation, and close collaboration with engineers and quality teams. Responsibilities

Perform TIG welding of aerospace stainless steel, inconel hardware, and aluminum alloys using manual or automatic equipment. Prepare welds: cutting, blending, chamfering, and cleaning parts. Support post‑weld inspection processes such as dye penetrant, X‑ray, and chemical treatments. Design and fabricate tooling for welding and assembly. Communicate with engineers on design concepts and offer improvement suggestions. Program CNC systems at both machine control and offline software levels for multi‑axis machining. Setup, operate, and troubleshoot laser equipment. Execute strip welding and installation on flight hardware. Review, edit, and follow Work Instructions for welding and assembly work. Work safely in an industrial environment, including off‑shift hours as needed. Qualifications

Experience with DC‑ and AC‑TIG welding of aerospace stainless steels, aluminum, and inconel alloys. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in documenting accurate records. Competence in using precision hand tools, standard mechanical tools, and fabrication shop equipment. Familiarity with personal computer use and basic CNC software. Desired

Orbital welding experience or knowledge. Familiarity with tube fabrication and pressurized system safety. Experience with 3‑D CAD tools (CREO preferred) and reading GD&T per ASME Y14.5M‑1994. Knowledge of drawing review, scheduling, work order systems, inventory, and issue tracking. Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight‑critical hardware. Machining experience. Crane Operator/Lift Coordinator certification. Compensation

WA applicants: $28.61–$40.05 per hour. Benefits
