Food & Beverage Manager Reports To:
General Manager / Culinary Director
Position Overview The Food & Beverage Manager oversees all aspects of the community’s restaurant and bar operations, ensuring exceptional service, quality food and beverage offerings, and a welcoming experience for residents and guests. The role manages daily operations, staff performance, inventory, and financial goals while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and community standards.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the restaurant and café, including opening and closing procedures, cleanliness, and overall presentation.
Ensure all food and beverage areas meet or exceed quality, consistency, and safety standards.
Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and community leadership to maintain efficient supply levels and cost controls.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures for both venues.
Manage budgets, forecasts, and inventory to meet financial targets.
Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, and payroll for food and beverage staff.
Analyze sales trends and create strategies to increase revenue and resident engagement.
Prepare and present regular performance and financial reports to management.
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise restaurant and café staff.
Foster a positive, team‑oriented environment focused on excellent customer service and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and staff meetings.
Ensure compliance with all labor, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Create and promote a welcoming environment that reflects the community’s culture and standards.
Collaborate with the events or lifestyle team on community functions, special dining events, and seasonal promotions.
Address and resolve resident or guest concerns promptly and.
Work with chefs and baristas to develop appealing, cost‑effective menus and beverage offerings.
Introduce creative dining experiences, themed events, and seasonal specials that enhance resident engagement.
Qualifications
3+ years of management experience in food and beverage, restaurant, or hospitality operations (community or resort setting preferred). Must have direct FOH and BOH experience.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive profitability.
ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain).
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Attributes
Experience in a country club, resort, or community association environment.
Passion for hospitality, resident satisfaction, and team development.
Creative approach to menu planning, events, and customer engagement.
