Your role
Compensation: Base salary range $55,000–$70,000, plus monthly commission, annual bonus potential, and monthly automobile allowance; potential 1st‑year earnings up to $100,000.
Mission
Manage, call on, and sell industrial equipment to customers in the assigned territory.
Roles And Responsibilities
Product Sales – Prospect, source, and maintain quality customers in the assigned area while achieving or exceeding assigned sales goals through action plans and schedules.
Sales Representative – Manage, call on, and sell products directly to customers in the assigned area. Actively engage in planned prospecting activities to grow the customer base, follow up on new leads and referrals, maintain rapport with existing and new customers (especially key accounts), respond promptly to inquiries, introduce new products and upgrades, study customer needs, and coordinate customer service.
Additional Duties – Prepare and present quotes, proposals, pricing, and credit terms; oversee customer services through quality checks and follow‑up; maintain a professional image; enhance the division’s and company’s reputation and brand image; obtain, develop, prepare, deliver, and present sales materials for exhibits, conferences, meetings, and other promotional opportunities.
Training & Development – Continuously update product and sales/marketing knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, networking, and professional organizations.
Reporting – Prepare reports on activity, lost orders, closings, follow‑up, and performance against budget; recommend product, service, pricing changes, and evaluate competitive developments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Experience: 5+ years of direct sales or customer service experience, industrial equipment sales preferred.
Education: Four‑year degree in business or marketing or equivalent work experience.
Skills: Self‑directed; excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication; proven business analysis; proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); valid driver’s license; travel required (30‑50% local, 25‑40% overnight within the Terre Haute, IN area).
