AYON Studio, a growing architecture and preservation practice in NYC, seeks a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to help us further our mission, achieve our vision, and uphold our values. We are a community‑driven firm dedicated to heritage conservation and preservation advocacy. We look to transform the built environment with contemporary, sustainable and architecturally appropriate interventions. Located on Union Square in the heart of Manhattan, AYON Studio works with public agencies, cultural institutions, and private property owners to safeguard and enhance significant properties, ensuring their viability for future generations.
The successful candidate will have 2-5 years of experience with an Architecture or Historic Preservation firm, securing work through formal RFQ/RFP processes. They must be adept at using MS Office and Adobe Creative Suites and have proficient writing and editing skills. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a deadline‑driven atmosphere while often working on multiple projects simultaneously. This is an in‑person position. Applicants for remote work only will not be considered.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain a lead tracking system for new business opportunities.
Produce proposals, qualifications packages, and presentation materials for the firm’s new project pursuits.
Maintain standard marketing collateral, including project descriptions, project lists, staff resumes, and firm profiles per category/typology.
Create and maintain a digital repository of firm and project information and imagery.
Execute and maintain the firm’s Communications Calendar and help identify external opportunities to showcase the firm’s expertise, including conferences, lectures, awards, and other thought leadership opportunities.
Assist with drafting and issuing external‑facing communications supporting the firm’s activities, including event descriptions, partner & employee profiles, press releases, newsletters, and other email communications.
Update, increase and manage the firm’s digital presence, including website and social media. Identify new storytelling opportunities and appropriate communications channels.
Reporting
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will report directly to the Principal and work collaboratively with the firm’s Associates, Marketing and Communications consultant and the staff to improve the way in which the office pursues and responds to new opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
Significant background in and love of architecture, art history and historic preservation.
2-5 years of demonstrated successful experience in marketing, communications, or public relations in the architecture industry or related non‑profits.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft articulate text with a targeted purpose.
Strong organizational, time management, collaboration, and communication skills.
Friendly, outgoing personality with good interpersonal skills.
Authorization to work in the US and English fluency.
