What to Expect As a Tesla Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will ensure the operational availability of manufacturing equipment by installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and automation systems. You'll collaborate with Engineering teams to improve reliability and minimize downtime. You'll be a key problem solver, handling machine breakdowns and maintaining production flow. You'll assist with Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), which will involve international travel for the first few months.

What You'll Do

Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FATs) internationally to validate and launch new production tooling

Use manufacturing systems (MES, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking) to collaborate with cross-functional teams and improve reliability

Perform major repairs and rebuilds, including weekend and holiday shifts when necessary

Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and communicate corrective actions

Respond to alarms, breakdowns, and production requests to minimize downtime

What You'll Bring

Experience with Siemens or other PLC platforms; Fanuc and Kuka robot experience is a plus

OSHA 10 certification is a plus and fluency in English is required

Demonstrate experience with 3-phase 480 / 208 VAC, single-phase 208 / 120 VAC, and 24 VDC systems

Skill in troubleshooting automation, conveyance, and electromechanical systems

Proficiency with hand tools, machining, welding, and reading mechanical / electrical schematics

Specialization in electrical / electronics, mechanical / machining, or automation / PLC / robotics

Essential Physical Demands

Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day

Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours / day, including over varied and uneven terrain

Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs

Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts

Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours / day

Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures

Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing

Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
