Summary Responsible for the day to day operations of the security department on the assigned shift. Develops and implements security policies and procedures, and ensures all are followed appropriately. Responsible for coordinating and supervising the security staff on the assigned shift.

Essential Functions

Trains, develops, directs, and counsels security personnel on the assigned shift

Reviews and approves all documentation generated during the shift to include, but not limited to Daily Activity Reports and Incident Reports

Performs, as necessary, all duties required of Security Officers

Conducts employee locker audits

Provides overall protection of company assets

Interacts with guests and employees in a professional manner

Interacts with local law enforcement and emergency medical services as required

Firearms knowledge to include regular inspection of all weapons

Controls access to lost and found and valuable lock‑up areas

Supervise all security functions in the absence of the Director of Security

Assists guests and employees with escalated security questions, concerns, or complaints

Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Requirements

Minimum two years of law enforcement, military and/or casino security or surveillance supervisory experience. Five years or more preferred

Ability to schedule assigned personnel in the most efficient, effective manner

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, state laws, local ordinances, and procedure manuals

Able to effectively write routine reports and correspondence

Excellent guest service skills and present a professional appearance

Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Able to use commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form

Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group situations, as well as one‑on‑one in English, both written and verbal

Ability to maintain composure and management ability during crisis

Efficiency using computers, including but not limited to Word and Excel

High school diploma or equivalent

College degree in Criminal Justice or related field desirable

Must be at least 21 years of age

CPR certification

Must be able to qualify under ACEP requirements with his/her weapon under PILB guidelines

Physical Requirements

Walk, stand, sit or stoop (more than 75% of time)

Jog or run on occasional basis

Sit at a desk or table (up to 25% of the time)

Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 75 lbs

Ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding and ramps

Occasionally drive motor vehicles

Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail

Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity (50% of the time)

Vision, hearing, speaking and literacy (critical)

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Working indoors or outdoors in a noisy, smoky, dusty environment that is either hot or cold
