Apply to become a Plumbing Engineer for a leading design and construction firm. The role involves design of plumbing and gas distribution systems for a wide range of building projects.
General Description The Plumbing Engineer shall be engaged in projects involving the design of facility related plumbing distribution systems including sanitary, vent domestic water and storm design. Fuel gas systems as well as specialty gas and fluid system design is required.
Overall Responsibility Supports the undertaking of project teams in the design and delivery of services related to design and construction plumbing systems, as well as the overall project. The Plumbing Engineer shall be responsible to the Plumbing Discipline Lead, Project Managers, and local Operations Director.
Essential Functions
Functions as Project Engineer on assignments with plumbing design scope and other disciplines.
Ensures coordinated design on projects.
Participates in the design development of plumbing work.
Creates and reviews drawings, technical specifications.
Contributes to estimation of projects, planning and construction feasibility.
Participates in the development of design drawings.
Able to provide advisory information during the construction phase.
Able to perform site surveys, contributes to engineering studies and assessment reports.
Attends and contributes to office, client and project meetings.
Mentors designers and early career engineers by providing guidance during project design.
Provides direction to BIM/CAD for drawing development.
Participates in the monitoring of project production and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Participates in ensures the quality of the work produced maintains high standards.
Performs engineering studies.
Performs technical and coordination check-review of project documentation and drawings.
Follows up on issues with design and production staff to resolve problems and concerns.
Participates in internal project meetings on a regular basis, including minutes.
Secondary Functions
Related duties as assigned.
Supports applicable requests as needed.
Lends support to all business areas outside of plumbing focus as needed.
Duties as assigned by the Discipline Lead, Project Managers, and local Operations Director.
Qualifications Needed Skills
Familiarity with software: MS Office, BlueBeam, AutoCAD and Revit.
Knowledge of the International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, and other applicable Building Codes.
Good communications skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Education / Experience Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. PE required. Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in a technical capacity reflecting increasing responsibility.
LEED credential preferred.
Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record.
Valid state driver’s license (any in US).
In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US.
Ability to meet worksite security requirements including criminal background checks and TSA threat assessment evaluations.
