Qualifications

Must present as courteous and professional at all times.

Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks.

Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion.

Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs, including the ability to learn, use and train HPAO Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner.

An understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and/or self‑help programs.

Understand and maintain therapeutic boundaries; reinforce rules in a respectful manner.

Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder and HIPAA Regulations.

TB/Flu and Covid‑19 assessment.

Certification in the HPAO approved de‑escalation program.

CPR certification.

Successful completion of all trainings upon hire and annually as required.

Maintains and submits any current licensure or certificate necessary for the performance of the position.

Responsibilities

Crisis intervention.

Maintain assigned caseload.

Providing direct care to residents, including assessments, individual counseling, discharge and after‑care planning, treatment plans and updates, weekly progress notes, daily group facilitation, group note completion, and completion of biopsychosocial assessments.

Making referrals when appropriate.

Responsible for each assigned resident’s medical records; all records are to be professional, complete and thorough with entries made in a timely manner.

Responsible for linking residents with after‑care services prior to discharge and aiding the resident and his/her family to access services when appropriate.

Communicating/involving family in treatment at resident’s request.

Request extensions after 90 days of treatment if needed.

Maintain professionalism when connecting with individuals and collaterals.

Attend and participate in all unit, facility meetings, case conferences, treatment team meetings, and mandatory trainings, as directed by the Clinical Supervisor or Director.

Responsible for continued education in the field of substance use and related courses.

All other duties as assigned by Program Director / Clinical Supervisor.
