Role Summary We are seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer who will specialize in Modeling and Simulation of complex technical solutions. This person will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control. The key responsibilities include:
Design and documentation of model and simulation requirements and architecture
Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations such as missile six-degree-of-freedom simulations (6‑DOF) and effects‑based simulations
Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities
Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware‑In‑The‑Loop (HWIL) activities
Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, or similar
Candidate must be proficient in C++
Proficient in either Matlab or Python
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance
Candidate must have demonstrated the ability to perform one or more of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) or Modeling and Simulation (M&S) assignments based on completed coursework or professional experience:
Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms
Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile six-degree-of-freedom simulations
Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations
Desired Skills
Candidate already possesses final DoD Secret clearance
Proficiency with Python and Linux
Experience with Agile development
Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines and software version control such as Git
Strong written/verbal communication and organizational and interpersonal skills
Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret.
