Ypsilanti, MI Full time, 32 hours per week Position Purpose
The Radiology Technologist is responsible for reviewing physician orders and reasons for exams, positioning, and imaging patients. The technologist works closely with radiology leadership and radiologists to produce high-quality diagnostic images following department protocols. They operate diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain routine radiographs for physician interpretation, assist with contrast media administration, and perform various technical procedures requiring independent judgment, integrity, and initiative. Qualifications Needed:
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program and registration as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred Experience with C-Arm equipment strongly preferred Good knowledge of anatomy, physics, electricity, and various anatomical positions (e.g., supine, prone) Ability to set exposure parameters to produce clear images while minimizing patient radiation exposure (ALARA) Responsibilities:
Review procedure requests and schedule patients, coordinating transport to the procedure area Prepare patients for procedures by explaining, positioning, immobilizing, and reassuring them with tact and courtesy Consult with radiologists for additional imaging needs Assist radiologists with radiographs, adjusting and operating imaging equipment Monitor patient condition before and during procedures, recognizing and responding to emergencies Ensure accurate image identification, process images, and monitor quality Document procedures and re-image if necessary Manage PACS images and forward for interpretation Assist with contrast media administration under radiologist supervision Perform other duties as assigned Benefits:
