Job Summary The

Senior Blend System Administrator

leverages in-depth knowledge of the Blend Point of Sale (POS) platform and working knowledge of the Encompass Loan Origination System (LOS) to manage system functionality, vendor relationships, integrations, and core business processes used throughout the digital loan origination process. This position serves as a subject matter expert for the Blend platform while providing secondary support for Encompass and fees-related systems. The role works with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance standards and operational efficiencies are maintained across multiple mortgage technology platforms, supporting seamless borrower-facing workflows and system integrations. Works on projects/issues of moderate to high complexity and demonstrates strong independent judgment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Blend Platform Administration and Configuration: Serves as primary subject matter expert for the Blend POS platform. Manages advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and configuration changes including custom fields, input forms, reporting views, user role modifications, business rules, dynamic data elements, and document management settings. Maintains user access, permissions, and role assignments. Ensures system configurations align with governance policies, security standards, and audit requirements.

Vendor Relationship Management and Integration Support: Manages relationships with Blend support and development teams, internal business analysts, and external vendors. Leads efforts to configure, develop, and implement system enhancements and resolve integration issues between Blend, Encompass, and other mortgage technology platforms. Coordinates API and workflow engine integrations. Escalates platform concerns when necessary and drives critical projects to closure.

Escalated Support and Troubleshooting: Manages escalated Blend support cases across all user groups (loan officers, processors, borrowers). Acts as third-level escalation point for general inquiries and complex system issues. Conducts root cause analysis on recurring issues and recommends long-term solutions or process improvements. Employs problem-solving skills to interpret, troubleshoot, and resolve issues relating to system functionality across multiple platforms.

Testing, Quality Assurance, and Release Management: Participates in Blend release testing and regression cycles. Manages user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality. Validates enhancements, documents impacts, and ensures updates do not adversely affect integrated systems. Tests configuration changes before deployment to production environments.

Encompass LOS and Fees Systems Support: Provides light administration support for the Encompass Loan Origination System. Supports fees-related systems administration and troubleshooting. Evaluates system integrations and business workflows to help drive process improvement.

Reporting, Performance Monitoring, and Continuous Improvement: Tracks and analyzes support case metrics, trends, and service level performance. Generates reports on system usage and performance. Updates project management systems and ensures deadlines are met. Stays current on Blend, Encompass, and mortgage technology platform updates, industry best practices, and regulatory changes. Makes strategic recommendations for process improvement and standardization.

Position Requirements Education

Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent related work experience required

High school diploma or GED equivalent required

Experience

Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting Blend or similar mortgage Point of Sale platforms in an administrative or technical support role (required)

Minimum two (2) years of experience with Encompass or similar LOS platforms

Experience with Blend configuration, user roles, workflow setup, and reporting views

Experience building input forms and creating business rules within mortgage technology platforms

Minimum three to five (3-5) years of experience within the mortgage industry (required)

Proven track record of troubleshooting complex system issues across multiple user groups and platforms

Working knowledge of mortgage regulatory and compliance issues

Functional/Technical Skills

Platform Expertise: Strong understanding of the Blend platform architecture and configuration options. Working knowledge of Encompass LOS, including input forms and business rules.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with POS and LOS platform integrations, custom plugins, and APIs (Blend APIs and SDKs preferred).

Mortgage Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the mortgage loan lifecycle from point of sale through servicing and secondary markets. Knowledge of real estate lending regulations, compliance standards, and operational requirements. Familiarity with borrower experience best practices and digital lending processes.

Project Management: Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project management skills. Must be able to manage multiple tasks, platforms, and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Communication: Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Effective communication and collaboration skills to maintain positive business relationships with system stakeholders.

Problem‑Solving: Advanced problem‑solving and analytical skills. Ability to understand, interpret, troubleshoot, and resolve issues relating to system functionality across multiple platforms.

Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively with external and internal clients across departments and locations. Outstanding customer service orientation.

Independence and Collaboration: Ability to work independently and collaboratively as the situation requires. Works with minimal supervision on complex issues.
