Job Highlights UAB seeks PRN/Flexi Neonatal Nurse Practitioners to join our Critical Care Transport Team.

The team transports critically ill patients by ground ambulance and fixed‑wing aircraft to and from UAB Hospital and other hospitals in Alabama and surrounding states, including longer‑range transports.

Transport capabilities include high frequency ventilation, phototherapy, nitric oxide and active cooling.

Job Description Provide medical care and treatment within established scope of practice to patients under the direction of a collaborating physician.

Coordinate plans of care, discharge, and specialty referrals, educate patients and families, conduct comprehensive physical examinations and assessments, analyze patient records, perform or assist physicians with procedures per collaborative agreement, and participate in performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Nursing with a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification required.

Work experience does NOT substitute for education.

Currently certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) Specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required.

Strongly preferred: 3 years neonatal ICU experience; 2 years NNP experience.
