JOB SUMMARY: Provides the highly skilled, discipline specific technical skills needed for the successful operation, installation, and maintenance of the Rigging and Staging elements for assigned Entertainment venues, projects, events, and productions, to ensure highest levels of show quality and a positive guest experience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Installation / strike of staging equipment within the assigned venue, project, or event. Assists with the preparation, loading, unloading and transportation of equipment and materials. Assisting with the use and operation of staging equipment within the assigned venue, project, or event. Responsible for the appropriate maintenance of rigging and staging equipment under the supervision of the Lead Tech I. Operates large vehicles and heavy equipment. Acts as a spotter and provides correct hand signals for vehicles to protect UO’s assets. Assists in inspecting the department equipment inventory. Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Technical school is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Preferred:

0-2 years of technical production experience; higher education.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: A Valid Florida Driver’s License is required to operate company vehicles. UO (Universal Orlando) provides annual training for heavy equipment operation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment. As directed, may assist in technical training and implementation of all training materials. Maintains and shares job knowledge and assists in developing Team Members. This position will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and will need to access building rooftops via fixed ladders & open staircases.
