Manager, Vendor Management (VMO) Job Summary The VMO leads the strategic oversight of high-risk, third-party vendors to ensure performance, mitigate risk, enforce contract terms, and align vendor relationships with Americo’s operational, legal, and compliance frameworks. This role oversees the full vendor lifecycle, including high-stakes negotiation, regulatory compliance, audit support, and performance governance. With elevated authority, the VMO manages critical relationships, enforces risk controls, and collaborates across Legal, Procurement, Compliance, Risk, and IT to uphold enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

Owns governance of enterprise vendor management policies and lifecycle processes, including onboarding, renewal, and exit.

Independently negotiates vendor contracts and renewals up to $10,000; escalates higher-tier agreements with recommendations.

Oversees compliance exposure by ensuring vendors meet regulatory, security, and contractual requirements (SOC 2, GLBA, HIPAA, etc.).

Manages high-risk vendor relationships, tracks key performance indicators, and enforces remediation plans for SLA failures.

Leads third-party risk management efforts, including due diligence, risk tiering, and risk mitigation strategies.

Prepares for and responds to audits and regulatory inquiries related to vendor activity and contractual compliance.

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in vendor governance, procurement, legal operations, or third-party risk.

Proven experience managing high-risk vendors and negotiating contracts with financial or compliance implications.

Deep knowledge of GRC frameworks and regulatory requirements relevant to vendors (SOC 2, HIPAA, GLBA, etc.).

Ability to lead cross-functional engagements and prepare audit-ready compliance documentation.

Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and performance governance skills.

Education Four year college degree or equivalent experience.
