Job Details Fusion Medical Staffing seeks a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to support patients in regaining or developing skills necessary for daily living. You will work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, implementing individualized treatment plans, assisting with adaptive techniques and equipment, and educating patients and families.
Qualifications
Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred: COTA Certification (NBCOT)
Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (new graduates are welcome)
Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Responsibilities
Deliver individualized occupational therapy interventions and treatments following the established plan
Maintain and operate adaptive equipment and assistive devices
Provide education to patients and caregivers on therapy techniques and self‑management strategies
Collaborate with occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
Document patient outcomes accurately in the medical record
Report findings promptly to the supervising therapist
Adapt interventions to diverse clinical settings—including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and community clinics
Prioritize tasks efficiently to manage multiple patients in a dynamic environment
Maintain safety and infection control protocols during therapy sessions
Perform additional duties as assigned within scope of practice
Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and proficient PC skills
Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
Interpersonal effectiveness with diverse personnel and a professional demeanor
Fine manipulation and motor skill proficiency in a clinical setting
Capacity to manage frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and work independently when necessary
Visual acuity and effective communication skills
