A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a new Spanish-speaking Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) to join their team in Brooklyn. In this role, the Bilingual CASAC will be responsible for providing alcoholism and substance abuse counseling services in approved work settings.
About the Opportunity
Start Date: ASAP Assignment Length: Ongoing (temp to perm) Schedule: Mon to Fri, Tues to Sat, or Sun to Thurs Hours: 8am to 4pm or 10am to 6pm EMR: SigmaCare Responsibilities
Develop and conduct group, individual, and family counseling on a scheduled basis to caseload clients/residents. Obtain weekly random urine samples according to established protocol. Orient clients/residents about program goals, objectives, rules and regulations, client obligations, client rights and program operation. Provide education and information to the client about alcohol and drug abuse. Maintain and update referral services and resources that may be useful to our client/resident population. Prepare legal monthly reports monthly or as needed. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications
2+ years of Clinical / Case Management experience. High School Diploma / GED. OASAS Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) certification. Bilingual (English and Spanish). Demonstrates appropriate Treatment Planning and Clinical Intervention. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Desired Skills
Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree.
