PRN Level 3 – Working Requirements
Minimum 6 12‑hour shifts per pay period (every two weeks)
3 holidays per year (at least 1 in winter)
3 weekend shifts per 4‑week schedule or as defined by unit supervisor

Job Summary and Qualifications What will you do in this role?
Perform and direct nursing procedures and prescribed treatments based on RN principles.
Insert IVs, administer IV medications, and begin blood product transfusion in accordance with hospital policy.
Observe and record patient reactions to medication, IV therapy, and blood transfusion.
Evaluate patient signs and symptoms, record and report results; set priorities and modify care as conditions change.
Collaborate with physicians regarding patient progress and attend to physician orders.
Assist physicians during treatment and examination of patient and process orders.
Provide and document patient and family education as needed.
Maintain current written care plans or critical pathways for assigned patients.
Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, positioning, range of motion, elimination, and ambulation.
Communicate clinical outcomes with patient and family.
Coordinate admission‑through‑discharge plans with case manager, patient, and family.
Actively participate in providing orientation for new personnel.
Attend unit meetings, in‑service, and other educational programs.
Float to other units as needed.
What qualifications will you need?
Current Indiana RN license or compact license.
Graduation from an accredited nursing school; associate’s degree required.
Basic knowledge of JCAHO, CMS and ISBH standards, rules and regulations.
Knowledge of performance‑improvement concepts and unit activities.
BLS certification required.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training completed within 30 days of hire and maintained.
ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
