Job Title Limited Scope Radiographer Cath Lab – Intermountain Health

Pay Range $20.00/hr – $30.00/hr

Job Description Performs imaging exams for which the employee meets the Core Exam Specifications and as allowed by their Limited Scope Radiographer license. Employee must demonstrate competency in these areas through successful completion of a skills test/competency review.

Intermountain Health Saint Vincent Hospital is equipped with 2 Cath Labs, 1 Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, 1 Vascular Suite, and a Hybrid Operating Room, providing a comprehensive environment for advanced cardiovascular interventions. Approximately 350 procedures are performed per month across a wide range of specialties.

Cardiac Procedures: Diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, including Impella support.

Electrophysiology: Complex arrhythmia ablations, Farapulse technology, and Watchman device implantation.

Structural Heart Interventions: TAVR, Triclip, MitraClip, ASD, and PFO closures.

Vascular Procedures: Endovascular, peripheral interventions, EVAR, TAVAR, TEVAR.

Each laboratory is outfitted with Philips imaging systems and GE Mac-Lab hemodynamic monitoring systems, complemented by Acist contrast injection devices. The team utilizes cutting‑edge technology, including Pnumbra, Shockwave, Rotablator, Volcano, IVUS, Boston Scientific devices, Impella, balloon pumps, and 3D ICE.

Essential Functions

Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation for the exam.

Provides sensitive care, explaining procedures to patients and families to facilitate cooperation and alleviate anxiety.

Performs radiologic exams that produce quality images while ensuring patient and staff safety.

Follows proper protocols, correct patient positioning, effective equipment use, and radiation protection guidelines.

Recognizes emergency patient situations and responds quickly and appropriately.

Completely and accurately documents all required information, including timestamps and image storage.

Coordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to other providers following procedures.

Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment, storing supplies and equipment efficiently.

Pursues continuing education and career development opportunities, especially regarding new procedures and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure as a Practical Radiologic Technologist/Limited Scope Operator in the state of practice or ARRT Board Registry Eligibility per state requirements.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.

Competency in at least one of the following areas: Chest, Extremities, Spine, Skull, Podiatry, Bone Densitometry (DEXA).

Preferred Qualifications

One year of experience in an ambulatory outpatient clinic environment.

Physical Requirements

Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent verbal communication with patients, providers, and visitors, including handling emergency situations.

Manual dexterity for manipulating complex equipment and frequent computer use for documentation.

Ability to lift and move patients, transfer supplies, and handle items up to heavy weights.

Walk/assist with transporting and ambulating patients and equipment, including heavy gurney handling.

May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.

Optional driving requirement for certain roles (requires vehicle operation).

Location Intermountain Health St Vincent Regional Hospital – Billings, Montana.

Scheduled Weekly Hours 0 (no fixed weekly hours; shifts will vary). The hourly range for this position is $20.67 – $30.78, dependent on experience.
