Travel Nursing Job Details

Location:

Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 (Alabama nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting:

Medical Respiratory Unit (42 beds, including 8-bed step-down)

Assignment Duration:

13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/8/2026)

Nursing Shift:

12-hour nights (19:00-07:00), every other weekend required

Hours per Week:

36 (option for 48 hours per week available)

Dress Code:

Solid Navy scrubs

EMR System:

Meditech

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or Compact State (no temporary licenses)

Associate degree in nursing or higher

Current AHA BLS or Red Cross certification

Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or related clinical specialty

At least 18 months of overall RN experience

Ability to float to other hospital units as needed

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care for acute and chronic respiratory conditions (pneumonia, COPD, lung diseases)

Manage medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, stroke, and post-surgical needs

Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6 (1:4 in step-down unit)

Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds

Float to other units and hospitals as required

Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
