The primary mission of the Information Technology Specialist is to provide a range of technology support services, including IT infrastructure hardware and software operations, maintenance, and help desk services, ensuring the continuity of operations of the IT network and associated hardware and software applications for the Indian Health Service’s Mescalero Service Unit located in Mescalero, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
Deliver a range of non-personal services for the Department of Health and Human Services, Indian Health Service, Mescalero Service Unit located in Mescalero, NM.
Provide effective installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, administrators, and medical staff to provide healthcare services in accordance with IHS standards and project/operational requirements.
Provide appropriate documentation and record keeping associated with the duties and responsibilities involved in supporting the IT infrastructure of the organization.
Collaborate with company leadership in the development and submission of monthly status reports related to the contract.
Support company-to-government communication, providing supporting documentation that enables accurate and timely development of planned or ad hoc reports or information.
Provide support as requested to company briefings, presentations, and meetings related directly to the organizational, operational, and administrative requirements of the contract.
Support the company’s commitment to ensuring world-class delivery of operational performance, results, innovation, customer satisfaction, and mission success.
Collaborate with company leadership and stakeholders on ideas to continually improve and enhance performance and customer relationship management.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school degree is mandatory.
Active in or having completed courses toward achieving a Technical or Skilled Trade certification(s), Community College degree, or other College or University degree is preferred.
Credit also given for years of related work experience in lieu of a certification or degree.
Experience: 1-3 years of related job experience is preferred.

Work Environment
Normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
During visits to areas of operations, may occasionally be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
