Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Design Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining engineering drawings, bills of materials, routings, and manufacturing programs. Your role will involve processing engineering change notices (ECNs) and change requests as needed, ensuring design inputs, approval drawings, and engineering packages are thoroughly reviewed and accurate.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain engineering drawings, bill of materials, routings, and manufacturing programs.

Process engineering change notices (ECNs) and change requests as required.

Ensure design inputs, approval drawings, and engineering packages are reviewed and accurate.

Provide support to customers, shop floor, and sales teams as necessary.

Develop engineering innovations for chip conveyor and filtration systems.

Maintain product design costs.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in SolidWorks, enclosure, conveyor, and machine tool design.

Experience with sheet metal and metal fabrication.

Familiarity with tooling and machine tools.

Competency in Inventor and AutoCAD.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate’s degree or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME highly preferred).

Conceptual design experience in SolidWorks or Inventor.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Machine tools and sheet metal is a plus.

AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Work Environment Join a midsize, privately held company that offers a clean and fast-paced work environment. Our team supports the chip cutting and conveyors group, designing and manufacturing sheet metal enclosures and special fabrications for metal cutting machines. These designs adhere to OSHA requirements, address safety concerns, and ensure effective coolant and chip containment while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the machines.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Machesney Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
