Robinson & Cole LLP, an AmLaw 200 firm, is seeking a candidate with a minimum of three years of commercial litigation experience to join our Insurance Practice Group. Candidates must have working knowledge of state and federal court practice throughout New England, and will be expected to assist attorneys in all phases of the litigation and arbitration process including electronic document review, motion practice, discovery, trial preparation, file analysis, and research. Experience with e-discovery software, particularly Relativity, is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Case management: Organize and manage case files, legal documents, and evidence.

Document preparation: Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.

Legal research: Conduct legal research on insurance policies, claims, and relevant laws.

Communication: Act as a liaison with clients, witnesses, and insurance companies; communicate with experts and coordinate with opposing counsel.

Discovery and litigation support: Assist with the discovery process, prepare for depositions and trials, and summarize medical and claims records.

Administrative tasks: File legal documents electronically, monitor deadlines, and handle correspondence.

Litigation Support Responsibilities

Pleadings and Motions: Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and other legal documents relevant to litigation matters.

Discovery: Prepare draft discovery responses, assist with drafting discovery requests (requests for production, interrogatories, deposition notices), organize documents for production, review documents and create deposition summaries.

Trial and Pretrial Support: Support attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing case files, managing documentation, and preparing binders, witness lists, and exhibits for arbitrations, mediations and trial.

Legal Research and Analysis: Perform legal research and analyze case law, statutes, and agency guidance.

Witness and Expert Coordination: Communicate with witnesses, coordinate interviews, assist with witness preparation, and collaborate with expert witnesses.

Case and Program Management: Maintain accurate and organized case files, track deadlines, ensure compliance with court rules and procedures, and communicate regularly with clients, witnesses, and court personnel.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Candidate must be highly motivated with strong organizational skills (with emphasis on detail).

The ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.

Proficiency with legal software, case management systems, and e‑filing platforms.

Ability to manage a multi‑state litigation practice.

The position can be based out of any of our firm’s offices, but Providence is preferred.
