We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Metrology Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and performing precision measurement and inspection processes to ensure compliance with customer and industry specifications. The Metrologist will work closely with Engineering, Tooling, and Production teams to support new product launches, tooling validation, and ongoing production quality.

Essential Job Functions
Operate and program precision measurement equipment (CMM, Faro Arm - both using PolyWorks software)
Interpret and apply GD&T to stamped parts and tooling components.
Develop measurement plans and inspection routines for new and existing parts.
Perform dimensional layouts and provide detailed reports for PPAP, ISIR, and capability studies.
Support troubleshooting of stamping, tooling, and quality issues through dimensional analysis.
Maintain calibration systems for measurement instruments.
Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to improve processes and reduce variation.
Education & Experience
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Metrology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a quality role, metrology preferred
Proficiency with tools such as CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), 3D scanning, micrometers, and other precision instruments.
Strong understanding of measurement uncertainty, statistical analysis, and quality systems.
Familiarity with PPAP, APQP, and quality systems ISO 9001:2015 a plus
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Knowledge of software such as Polyworks is preferred.
Certification in metrology or calibration is preferred.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 40 LBS, lift twist, grab, stand (up to 8 to 10 hours), walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
