Medical-Surgical Intermediate Unit (Step Down Unit)

Assignment Type:

Travel RN contract

Duration:

13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 2/28/2026)

Shift:

12-hour night shifts

Estimated Weekly Salary:

$1780–$1910

Orientation:

Every other Monday

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact State (required at time of application)

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or related specialty

Prior travel nursing experience required

BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred

NIH Stroke Scale certification required

Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

All requested time off must be submitted with application

Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible for this travel RN job

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in a Medical-Surgical Step Down Unit

Manage IVs, drips, and infusions for diverse patient populations

Transport patients as needed within the hospital

Float to other units or nearby campuses (within 10 minutes) as required by facility needs

Support and mentor nursing students and new hires in a teaching hospital setting

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
