The Role
Focused on maintaining, developing, and operating manufacturing systems. Keeping production costs down, while maintaining the quality of the product while performing the following duties:
What you will be responsible for:
- Oversees the technical aspects of developing, establishing, testing, and improving manufacturing systems and methods including, but not limited to automation and improvement of processing equipment, material handling equipment, tooling, fixtures, jigs, and testing equipment.
- Ensure that standard operating procedures are in place and remain relevant to drive safety, quality and efficiency.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Ensure equipment maintenance tasks and schedules meet manufacturer's recommendations.
- Analyze labor cost and plan workflow, staffing, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency and identify and optimize bottlenecks.
- Ensure that metrics for efficiency and productivity are accurate and drive improvement.
- Assess capacity and required resources to meet customer demand.
- Identify and analyze process and design improvements to reduce cost and lead time.
- Ensures manufacturing processes are in compliance with all government laws and regulations.
- Recommends new policies or procedures as necessary to ensure improved products or services.
- Conducts training and assessments as directed.
- Document current and ideal practices and use post-completion audits to assure compliance of improvements.
- 3D CAD design through commissioning of tooling & fixtures
- Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on-site.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the business.
- Personal computer skills including electronic mail, cloud data storage and sharing, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, charts, presentations, generate & interpret CAD drawings, layouts, graphics, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field, with a minimum of 4-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
