Human Resource Specialist II - Safety role at
Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.
(SEWS) – El Paso Customer Service Center (Eastside). This position is responsible for overseeing the safety program to ensure the well‑being of all ECSC associates. Supports the development and implementation of the Employee Suggestion Program and assists departments in identifying and meeting training needs. Responsibilities
Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of SWS and SEWS safety programs, including the revision of policies/procedures, delivery of training, and accident investigation to ensure regulatory compliance. Conduct daily safety patrols, coordinate site management safety inspections, communicate findings, coordinate countermeasures, and provide response and action to Corporate and SWS Safety Requests. Accident investigation – work with cross‑functional groups to identify root causes and develop countermeasures. Promote the Employee Suggestion Program, including entering CIAs in the database to maintain accurate records; assist in follow‑up of CIA implementation with departments. Develop and maintain training records to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and workers’ compensation. Assist supervisors and managers to determine training needs and provide alerts for refreshing training. Maintain training material/overall training plan and training master lists. Maintain PPE supplies inventory, first aid supplies, and create requisitions as needed. Perform safety and training audits to ensure compliance. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business with an HR focus or EHS Engineering. 3–7 years of progressive professional experience in safety, including training experience. Ability to manage projects, collect and analyze data, and track progress. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Smartsheet, with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills in English/Spanish.
