Description Community Consolidated School District 89 is seeking to hire a Primary Modified Aide for the 2025-2026 school year at Westfield Elementary School. This position is five days a week, full-time equivalent 1.0. The aide will support the needs of Special Education children, assisting the student or students to adapt school work and function to meet their needs throughout the school year.

Qualifications All applicants must meet Illinois requirements for aides, holding an ELS (PARA) license.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Make decisions and demonstrate leadership that support the mission, vision, goals and interests of the district and of students. Communicate, collaborate, and cooperate with colleagues, supervisors, staff, and teachers.

Assist teachers in maintaining student discipline and classroom instruction. Escort children to and from instructional areas, bathrooms, or playgrounds.

Assist with the setup of the classroom and preparation of materials for specialized instructional units. Coordinate the use of audio‑visual equipment and computers for the classroom.

Keep daily logs of student behavior and learning as directed by the classroom teacher. Implement de‑escalation strategies and individualized student behavior intervention plans (token boards, choice boards, individualized schedules, etc.).

Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, positioning, student hygiene and feeding as dictated by student needs.Prepare and/or assist with various curricula, such as physical education, as directed. Evaluate student performance under the supervision of the classroom teacher.

Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up learning activities.

Serve as a source of information and help to substitute teachers.

Participate in in‑service training programs as assigned (CPI annually).

Advise the classroom teacher or principal immediately of any problems that warrant prompt attention, advice or intervention.

Perform special assignments and other duties as determined by the classroom teacher or school administration.

Salary and Benefits All non‑certified staff that fall under the Support Professional Association “SPA” are placed on a salary schedule according to position and experience as part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The hourly range for this position is: $18.50–$22.25. Non‑certified staff receive 12 sick days and 2 personal days of paid time off. Full‑time staff are eligible for health and dental insurance programs (90% board‑paid for employee, 80% board‑paid for family, 100% board‑paid dental).
