Job Title
Process Improvement Senior Analyst
Position Summary This position serves as an internal consultant leading process improvement initiatives across the mission areas of the Cancer Program and OSUWMC. The analyst will interface with all levels of the organization, lead and facilitate cross‑functional teams to improve processes, and identify and remove barriers that prevent successful attainment of process improvement goals. The role is responsible for proactively identifying opportunities that significantly impact organizational goals, and for managing a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from rapid cycle initiatives to larger DMAIC projects. The candidate must demonstrate exceptional problem‑solving, change‑management, advanced leadership and coaching, data analytics (operations research, statistical analysis), and project‑management skills.
Scope of Position The department of Operations Improvement is located at Ackerman Building, 660 Ackerman Road. Projects will entail travel to locations within the James and Ohio State University Medical Complex. Primary working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but these may shift on a project basis, such as early‑morning or evening facilitation sessions and overnight value‑stream‑mapping.
Minimum Qualifications
For hire: Master’s degree in operations management, industrial engineering, or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
Significant experience in performance/process improvement, change management, and DMAIC/Lean implementation.
Experience managing, executing, and sustaining major change initiatives with quantifiable results, coupled with project‑management experience.
Lean/Six Sigma certification or PMP preferred.
Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
Proficiency with simulation software tools.
Ability to facilitate large cross‑functional groups.
Health‑care experience preferred.
