Per Diem/Day Shift

Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence or absence of disease using a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, trans‑esophageal echocardiography, trans‑catheter echo‑guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo‑guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast‑enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Has the ability to modify procedures to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost‑effective basis. Will comply with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

Upon hire: Oregon Sonographer

Upon hire: National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International OR

Upon hire: National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International OR

Upon hire: National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s Degree (Applied Science) from a CAAHPE accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

1 year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations.

Minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available.

Pediatric echocardiography experience.

Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices).

Experience with echo‑guided trans‑catheter procedures (St. Vincent Medical Center).

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
