RN - PCU Stepdown
Job Details: • Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • Every other weekend requirement • Every other holiday requirement • Rotating shifts will not occur more than weekly • Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5, occasionally 1:5-6 on nights, PCU level care overflow 1:3 • Must have PCU experience and ability to read cardiac strips • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS • Care for adults and geriatrics including cardiac cath patients, EP studies, pacers, ETOH, Covid BiPap, general surgical with heart history, medical patients with cardiac history, pneumonia, acute on chronic conditions, influenza, and sepsis • Required to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low dose Dopamine • Must read and interpret telemetry strips independently • Work with respiratory equipment including BiPap, trachs, and Airvo • Floating requirements to all areas as helping hands, PCU for full patient load, medical-surgical for full patient assignment, and some ER holds/boarding • Any color scrubs permitted • Two 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation on Friday and Saturday of first week • Epic charting system experience preferred • 32-bed unit with charge nurse on each shift who occasionally takes light patient load • Support from patient care techs with 1:10 ratio goal and telemetry monitor techs • Candidates must live more than 50 miles from facility
