Due to continued success and exciting growth within our business, we’re expanding our maintenance division to support new client contracts across the UK. As a result, we’re recruiting refrigeration engineers nationwide to join our high-performing teams and help us deliver exceptional service on a local scale. You will be the first line in all service and maintenance throughout your allocated sites, effectively maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment in customer locations and providing assistance to HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits.
Key Accountabilities
Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
Identify non‑repairable faults promptly and advise the line manager with recommendations for replacement.
Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are completed within agreed timescales with accurate paperwork.
Keep all technical and compliance paperwork up to date.
Participate in an out‑of‑hours standby rota and arrange cover for holidays or unforeseen circumstances.
Be aware of regulations and codes of practice applicable to the tasks.
Order and fit parts or components following company procedures.
Notify the company helpdesk of any procedural task status changes.
Advise the general service managers of any repair, maintenance or installation issues that could affect the smooth running of the site and build good relationships with them.
Respond promptly to service call requests from the helpdesk and perform necessary repairs.
Carry out surveys and complete required reports for the refrigeration supervisor/region facilities manager.
Complete all work to the highest standards in an efficient and cost‑effective manner, complying with the company Health and Safety policy.
Perform tasks within the allotted time and to the satisfaction of the company and client.
Use written, verbal communication, report writing and recording procedures effectively.
Attend training courses as needed and keep technical and business knowledge up to date.
Complete all mandatory Evolve online training modules.
Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the company’s Health and Safety Policy at all times.
Work with company and ASDA colleagues to maintain standards of quality.
Represent the company in a professional and competent manner and develop good working relationships with City and ASDA colleagues.
Follow any other reasonable request or instruction from the City Management Team.
Financial Responsibility
Carry out work in the most cost‑efficient manner.
No budgetary accountability.
People Responsibility
Represent the company professionally and develop good working relationships with engineers, supervisors, the operations manager and the head of department.
Collaborate with other engineers within the region/cell.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Suitable maths & English qualification.
Time Served apprenticeship.
NVQ/C&G Refrigeration Based qualification.
Approved training programme.
Refrigerant handling C&G 2079 or equivalent CITB certificate.
Skill card.
Refrigeration, electrical and air‑conditioning knowledge.
Mechanical skills.
Ability to read drawings.
Health and safety legislation knowledge.
Applicable codes of practice.
Equipment diagnostic and repair skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Team integration.
Customer perception.
Self‑motivation and professionalism.
Ability to work at heights and competence in the use of access equipment.
Current full driving licence essential.
