Required Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Experience / Skills
Critical care and charge experience
preferred Minimum
1 year acute care nursing experience
required if no ED experience Must identify and intervene in life-threatening situations Thorough knowledge of nursing principles and quality patient care Must assess patient needs: clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual Recognize safety issues, proper use of lifts, function in stressful situations Strong leadership, prioritization, delegation, problem-solving, and communication skills May be required to assume
charge nurse duties Must complete
lethal dysrhythmia exam
during probation and be
defibrillation certified
within 6 months IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification required during orientation
