Position: Assistant Professor – Criminal Justice (Tenure-track). The role commences in the fall semester of 2026.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will have an active research agenda and a record of peer‑reviewed and public‑service scholarship, or a clear potential to develop such a record. Duties include teaching a wide array of undergraduate and graduate courses—such as Introduction to Courts and Sentencing, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law, research methods, and statistics—across multiple formats and modalities. The faculty member will supervise master’s students and contribute to a growing Legal Studies minor. The position requires dedication to student support, professional service, institutional leadership, and civic engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a closely related field (a J.D. alone is not sufficient). Advanced ABDs may be considered provided the Ph.D. is transcripted prior to the start date.
Demonstrated excellence or potential for excellence in teaching, research, and service.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or Criminology.
Evidence of, or strong interest in, pursuing external funding opportunities.
Interest and ability to teach graduate‑level research design and statistics.
Experience with, or interest in, developing experiential and career‑focused learning pedagogy.

Salary and Benefits
Salary starts at $63,000 and is commensurate with experience. The standard faculty contract is a 9‑month contract paid and benefits spread over 12 months, renewable annually.
