As an ACCS Awake Overnight Residential Counselor in a Residential Group Living Environment (GLE), you will provide direct support to people with psychiatric conditions in a residential setting designed to foster independence. ACCS Awake Overnight Residential Counselors ensure that Persons Served receive quality services regardless of the time of day.
In your role you will work together with the people we serve, their families, friends, employers, and other support staff to transform their lives by building independence skills or increasing quality of life.
Key duties include administering medication under the Medication Administration Plan (MAP), implementing treatment plans, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring safety and cleanliness of the program.
Responsibilities
Help people who are new to the residence settle in, provide support to those with difficulty sleeping, encourage good sleep habits.
Implement treatment plan interventions as directed by the Team LPHA Clinician.
Perform day‑to‑day assignments as directed by the Program Director.
Use recovery‑oriented, person‑centered, harm‑reduction, trauma‑informed, culturally competent, and strengths‑based approaches.
Adhere to safety, maintenance, Human Rights, and other operational policies and procedures.
Comply with physical site licensing standards and regulations.
Store, administer, document, and dispose of medication consistent with MAP requirements, funding source regulations, and company policy; teach medication management.
Create opportunities for residents to participate in the smooth operation of the residence, including meal preparation and physical site maintenance.
Encourage social interaction among residents and help create a collaborative environment where family, friends, and others important to the residents are welcome, respected, and valued.
Help residents prepare meals.
Participate in trainings; attend supervision and staff meetings as requested.
Assist with the orientation of new staff.
Complete all required documentation.
Contribute to program’s quality improvement goals and objectives.
Help residents use crisis intervention techniques when necessary and access on‑call backup when needed.
Complete incident documentation as required.
Perform physical site maintenance activities following the maintenance schedule.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate’s degree in a human services related discipline is preferred.
Prior experience working in a human services setting strongly preferred.
Bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions are encouraged to apply.
Driving Requirements Driving is required. Candidates may use a Vinfen van or a personal vehicle. If using a personal vehicle, you must possess and maintain adequate insurance and a safe driving record subject to annual checks. A valid driver’s license must be presented at the time of employment. Incumbents must be at least 21 years of age, have held a valid U.S. driver’s license for at least six months, and must be able to pass a driver’s screening background check.
Physical Effort Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, lift at least 25 pounds with proper techniques, operate a computer and other office equipment, sit, reach, climb stairs, maneuver through narrow spaces, assist residents with daily living tasks, remain stationary 50% of the time, speak, hear, and communicate, and possess vision capabilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

MAP within 150 days of hire Pay Range USD $21.00 per hour.
