Overview As a Biostatistician II, you will support biomedical research projects across the health sciences as a member of the Center for Biostatistics (CFB). Your role includes advising investigators on protocol development, study design, statistical analysis plans, sample size/power calculations, and interpretation of study data.

Responsibilities • Advise study investigators on protocol development, study design, statistical analysis plans, sample size/power calculations, and interpretation of study data.

• Provide guidance on biostatistical needs for grant submissions, journal articles, technical reports, and abstracts.

• Conduct and interpret analyses of research data using descriptive statistics, basic inferential tests, and advanced statistical procedures.

• Resolve potential data issues and ensure accuracy and validity of research data.

• Support dissemination efforts by compiling results, preparing reports, providing statistical summaries, and generating tables and graphics for publication.

• Mentor, oversee, and train junior biostatisticians.

• Attend and present at relevant scientific or statistical conferences, seminars, and workshops.

• Participate in CFB committees and working groups.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent experience.

4 years of relevant experience required; 4–8 years preferred.

Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (SAS, R, or Stata) essential.

Experience in preparing grant applications and managing large datasets using SQL and similar programming languages preferred.

Additional coursework in epidemiology, public health, biology, or medicine desired.

Strong knowledge of study design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
