Senior Sales Engineer - Puppet
Perforce Software is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer – Puppet to join our Puppet team.
Base Pay Range $109,850.00/yr – $165,000.00/yr
Position Summary Our Sales Engineering leader is searching for a Sales Engineer to work with tier‑1 enterprises who are leaders in their field. You will deliver presentations, guide technical strategy, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams. Opportunities for travel and a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning are provided.
Responsibilities
Work closely with account executives to develop a strategy to obtain new customers and drive expansion to meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets.
Lead pre‑sales engineering activities including technical discovery, RFP responses, technical presentations, architectural guidance, security questionnaires, manage evaluations, sales support and ongoing client relationships.
Support marketing activities by participating in trade shows, reviewing documentation for technical accuracy and hosting introductory webinars as needed.
Provide customer and industry inputs to product teams and collaborate with product management on product roadmap.
Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure ongoing support and success for customers.
Moderate travel required.
Qualifications
Self‑starter – resourceful and able to manage time effectively.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
3+ years of experience in technical pre‑sales or consulting in a SaaS environment.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Prior experience conducting demonstrations, training, professional services and managing evaluations.
Fast learner and not afraid to learn new technologies quickly.
Hands‑on Experience
Infrastructure automation – Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt.
Development and scripting – Ruby, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash.
Unix, Linux or Windows system administration.
Azure, AWS or Google Cloud experience.
Git‑based version control.
CI/CD tooling.
Containers – Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
