Position Summary Join Walmart/VIZIO and take your career to the next level! We are Vizio, part of Walmart, a leading smart TV platform. Our team implements Bluetooth software and mid-level HAL support for our TV OS platform. Our team owns the Bluetooth stack development and hardware abstraction layer for Vizio TVs. We are working on next generation of OS HAL platform for future TVs. We are a dynamic group passionate about media and Bluetooth technologies. We use cutting edge software/hardware tools including latest modern C++ development. We value problem solving and collaboration and believe in empowering team members to achieve their best. We’re focused on learning, doing something new and valuable, and encouraging our team to do the same. We are looking for a highly competent C++ Developer with experience in design, coding, and debugging. If you have experience on embedded Linux based platforms with Advanced C++, we would like to hear from you. A successful candidate will contribute domain expertise and make high-impact individual contributions related to UI engine development and optimization. This position will not have direct reports and is an Individual contributor. We pride ourselves on being a collaborative team here at Vizio and to accomplish this, we are in office 5 days a week in our Dallas, TX office.

About the Technology Team: Our Technology Team is at the forefront of driving Walmart's digital transformation. We are dedicated to developing innovative solutions that enhance the customer experience and streamline our operations. As a Project Management Manager, you will play a crucial role in guiding our team to achieve strategic goals and deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
Architect, supervise, and develop TV OS software for next‑generation platforms and hardware.
Oversee the abstraction layer between TV hardware and applications to ensure seamless integration.
Manage hardware automation testing to guarantee robust and reliable performance.
Develop and port OS features for smart TVs, including Bluetooth audio and peripherals.
Lead sustenance engineering efforts for existing Linux‑based OS, focusing on improvements, bug fixes, and new feature development.
What You’ll Bring
6+ years of experience with C++ (preferably C++17), Linux/Unix, and Bluetooth stack.
BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and familiarity with C++ patterns and best practices.
Expertise in Linux system‑level programming, including multithread thread‑safe programming, inter process communication, and advanced debugging.
Experience with audio codecs (e.g., SBC, LC3), ALSA, and PipeWire.
Bonus skills: Device driver development, and real‑time media pipeline.

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
