Job Summary
The
Optometrist
will provide comprehensive eye care services at Mercy Medical Group, a physician‑led group under Dignity Health. Responsibilities include performing eye exams, diagnosing and treating eye conditions, prescribing corrective lenses, managing glaucoma under California regulations, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, educating patients, maintaining records, and pursuing continuing education. This full‑time position offers a predictable schedule with no call, nights, or weekends.
Responsibilities
Collaborative team environment – join a team of 5 optometrists and 3 ophthalmologists.
Full‑time schedule – no call, no nights, and no weekends required.
Provide comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages, including eye exams, refractive error assessment, binocular vision assessment, and overall ocular health evaluation.
Diagnose and manage eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
Prescribe and fit glasses and contact lenses tailored to individual patient needs.
Treat glaucoma and prescribe medications in accordance with California optometry regulations (glaucoma certification required).
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver well‑rounded patient care.
Educate patients on proper eye care and safe use of corrective lenses.
Stay current with optometry advancements through continuing education and professional development.
Maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive compensation: $157,000 – $174,000 annually (DOE).

Job Requirements
Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
Active California optometry license.

Willingness to pursue continuing education and professional development.
