Service Engineer - Turbocharger

Description We are seeking a Service Engineer – Turbocharger to provide expert technical support and deliver maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for turbocharger products. This essential role supports key industries such as military and defense, first responders, and global supply chain providers, helping to ensure operational stability across sectors responsible for everything from raw materials to consumer goods and food products.
About The Role
Perform Assembly and Disassembly of turbochargers and their components per manufacturer instructions.
Inspect and Diagnose Issues: Assess turbochargers for wear and damage, diagnose mechanical issues, and determine necessary repairs.
Conduct Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, reconditioning, and parts replacement to optimize turbocharger performance.
Prepare Detailed Technical Reports: Write comprehensive reports on turbocharger condition and the work performed.
Ensure Quality Control: Verify that all maintenance and repairs meet quality standards and comply with safety regulations.
Provide Customer Support: Offer technical advice to customers both onsite and remotely.
Mentor and Lead Teams: Lead small teams of technicians as needed, guiding productivity and skill development.
Travel Extensively: Be prepared for up to 75% travel, including domestic and occasional international trips, with occasional weekend work.
Education & Experience Requirements Education: Recognized electrical or mechanical certification from an accredited trade school, military training institution, or associate degree in a related field.
Experience: At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with turbochargers (ABB, MAN, NAPIER, MET, etc.), marine diesel engines, or similar mechanical systems. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills Strong understanding of turbocharger systems, effective problem‑solving, attention to detail, and the ability to write detailed technical reports.
Other Requirements Valid driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
Compensation & Benefits Salary: $40.00 – $58.00 per hour (based on experience, skillset, and location).
Additional Compensation: Overtime pay and upselling compensation plan.
